Choosing a visual feedback tool

An honest framework for evaluating visual feedback tools — capture, triage, integrations, identity, and pricing.

Every visual feedback tool looks the same in a 30-minute demo. Here's the framework we'd use to pick one if we were buying instead of building.

Five dimensions to evaluate

  1. Capture quality: what context comes free with every report?
  2. Triage UX: can three people work the queue in parallel?
  3. Integrations: does it sync two-way with your tracker?
  4. Identity: SSO, SCIM, guest seats — does it fit your org?
  5. Pricing model: per-seat, per-org, or per-report?

Red flags

  • Per-reviewer pricing for stakeholders who file twice a year.
  • One-way integrations that drift out of sync.
  • AI features locked behind the top tier.
  • No public API or webhooks.

Green flags

  • Free guest reviewer seats.
  • Documented OpenAPI surface and signed webhooks.
  • Two-way tracker sync that survives status changes on either side.
  • Transparent pricing with no per-seat surprises.

Try the workflows you just read about.
